Physical Relief from Stress- The importance of exercise and sleep
A great way to reduce stress is to set up an exercise routine for yourself. It doesn’t have to be anything too intense- a light walk in the evenings could get your blood flowing and your hormones working properly. Don’t forget that a low level of physical activity is associated with decreased life expectancy, and it contributes directly to the development of chronic diseases.
When dealing with stress, the less sleep you get, the more irritable you become. Not to mention those late nights will also eliminate your creativity and ability to logically solve problems throughout your day. Lack of sleep intensifies the hormones you experience at stressful times. Between the ages of eighteen and twenty-five, experts recommend a minimum of nine hours of sleep, both for your physical and mental well being. Without the proper amount of sleep, it is proven that you are more susceptible to diabetes and obesity by the time you are fifty, even with no family history.
What has worked for you in relieving stress? Perhaps a hot bubble bath?
