The Natural Stress Blocker
Okay, so stress is here to stay. No matter how much we may try to design our day to eliminate those hot buttons that send us to the negative sizzle zone, it’s just a reality that someone in the office is going to step on our toes, or a teen is going to come home late from an outing, or the husband is upset because of his bad day at work, or a large account was just lost at work.
Yes, those are real issues, and one would have to be a zombie to ignore the unwelcome “live” situations that uninvitingly come into our day.
Quick fixes, though, can be simple deep breathing techniques, or something as simple as a long walk. These conscious actions can eliminate tension from the muscles. Attentive regulation of breathing bridges the body to the mind. Deep breathing techniques can help lower blood pressure, and bring about a calmness without taking drugs. Try breathing slow, deep breaths as an exercise, and feel the result of the nervous system coming back into balance.
