Choosing The Right Nail Polish Color For Your Skin Tone

Did you know that different skin tones reflect the same nail polish shades differently?  With all of the beautiful color choices presented by nubar, how can you possibly choose which ones are best for you? If you choose your nail polish color according to your skin tone, you always make the proper choice. With over 180 fabulous colors to suit your style, you can find a nubar color for whatever skin tone you live in. All nubar products are free of Formaldehyde, Toluene and Phthalate because choosing to be healthy does not have to mean being dull, stiff, or boring. Here are some tips for selecting the correct shade of nail polish by nubar.

FAIR SKIN-Fair skin has blue undertones, use sheer colors in light pinks and ivories such as nubar’s Sweet Dreams, Cupid, Baby Pink, Magic Potion or Pinkish Blend. If you want a little drama try, Dé Jà Vu, Mystic Romance, Chocolate Crush.

OLIVE SKIN- Olive skin tones look great in rich colors. nubar suggests  Fire Brick, Brass, Rose Brown,  Burnt Copper. To add  some sparkle we recommend Burnt Glitter.

PEACHY SKIN- If you have a warm peaches-and-cream complexion, most colors look great on you. If you have this skin tone then consider any of the following nubar nail lacquers; Hot Whispers- Electric touch, Pink Sachet, Pink Veil,  Dazzling, Satin Sheets or Tropical Treat.

BROWN SKIN- Bronze skin looks best in bold, warm colors. nubar suggests that Coral Veil, Cinnamon Twist, Flush Merlot, Precarious Lavender or Peach Sherbet would be suitable colors for this skin tone.

DARK SKIN-  Rich skin tones look best in blue-based colors. Bold, vibrant hues pick up the warmth in dark skin tones. To suit this skin tone try Ruby Velvet, Hot Pink, Lilac Cashmere, Fickle Amethyst, Candy Cane Lane, Hot Fuchsia, Hollywood Pink or add some stylish fun with nubar’s Hot Lime nail lacquer.

The New Gloss - Plumber Lips

Lancome, Paris, has just announced a new Juicy Tube Swirl lip-gloss. The ultra shiny lip-gloss is a fun look with three multi colors blended in each tube. Their Juicy Tubes Smoothie is also a new release. This ultra shiny lip-gloss adds pout, with shimmering colors for every mood. The tubes offer medium coverage with glistening glides on effects with the tube-tip. Referred to as “pretty slick”, it has added features.

The added feature is that the lips appear fuller in just one application, as concentrated peralized particles integrate into the finish and give lips an over-all plumping effect.

Lots of colors are available including: the Browns-neutrals line, pinks and berries, and reds and corals. Let us know what you think of this new option in lovey lips.

Which Blush style/color works best for your skin?

It seems that every season there’s a need to adjust one’s cosmetic blush colors. Understandable, especially if one lives in a climate of change and wardrobe demands require different colors. Basically, there are two options for the blush type: powder or cream. Some experts say that once you've past the age of 40, cream works best. That may be true, however, one needs to watch which ones last, or which kinds may evaporate quickly on the skin – especially per weather conditions. Because skin types do vary, experimenting with each seems to be the tried and true tested way to know what works.

For color, it is fun to experiment along with changing clothing palettes; likely not one color is going to work for all depending on the outfit you're wearing The light natural pinks, beiges, and peaches are preferences for the daytime, and brighter colors complement the face for the evening. Bronzing powder instead of blush is also a good option (per season and dress).  I often lean toward the bronzes, especially in the summer. I have found that Clinic’s bronzes have a soft look, while enhancing the natural skin tone.

It’s always fun to experiment anew.  What do you like? What works best for you?
